None of the tribe’s elders thought that their bloodline would one day pass away. Words are knowledge, and knowledge is power. But it is dying. You are the last one of your people. And time is running away. The tribe used to pass on knowledge by telling stories aloud, by the fire, every night. They’re just memories now, no one is here to remember. No one, except you.

In this solo / GMless game you’ll be creating your very own writing system, language and your character(s) experiences as the last one(s) of their people. You’ll need a tarot deck to play.

The game has two phases. In the first one you’ll create the writing system by pulling cards from the deck and taking a look to the corresponding stroke. Write them down and combine as you wish. Once you have that, shuffle the deck again.

Each card holds some words and a prompt. The words represent concepts of the language. Make up a word that fits the character’s culture for that concept. Write it down, create grammar if you wish, and don’t pick a card until you run out of ideas.

When the deck runs out of cards, your character will die, and their culture come to an end. 

Tip: You can also write in plain English. Use the deck’s booklet to gain additional interpretations!
